Ik ben altijd een beetje geobsedeerd geweest door hoeden. Niet op een verzamelaarswij — meer op de manier waarop een hoed een outfit af kan maken zonder er iets aan toe te voegen. Gewoon door er te zijn. De hoeden in deze categorie zijn geselecteerd met precies dat in gedachten: stukken die iets zeggen, maar je nooit overschreeuwen. Of je nu gaat voor een brede rand die licht breekt op een zonnige dag, of een strakke vorm die boven een lange jas werkt alsof hij altijd al bij je hoorde — hier vind je iets dat bij jou past. Niet bij een trend. Ik denk dat dat verschil voelt, al weet je niet altijd waarom. Er is iets aan een stuk dat je precies goed voelt. Niet te veel, niet te weinig — gewoon jouw energie, maar dan net iets scherper aangezet. Dat is wat je in Voor Haar aantreft. Geen eindeloze schermen vol keuzes, maar een selectie die met aandacht is samengesteld: prints die ergens over gaan, silhouetten die staan, kleuren die ook bij daglicht kloppen. Ik ben eerlijk — ik heb meer dan een paar stukken voor mezelf gehouden voordat ze de winkel in gingen. Dat is misschien niet zo professioneel, maar het vertelt je wel iets: alles wat hier staat, is eerst door mijn eigen handen gegaan. De stof voelt een bepaalde manier, de kleur is net iets rijker dan de foto doet vermoeden, de pasvorm is nagedacht. Klein detail, maar ik kijk altijd hoe een mouw valt als je je arm langs je zij houdt. Dat soort dingen. Voor Haar is geen box. Het is geen categorie in de saai-commerciële zin.
